Booking Terms and Conditions
- Wings 2014 will be run under rules laid out in The United Kingdom (UK) Scout Association Policy, Organisation and Rules (POR) and the policies of Girlguiding UK (The Guiding Manual). All participants, leaders and staff must comply with all Policies and Instructions set out by the WINGS 2014.
- Each unit will pay a non-refundable deposit of £100 at the point of registration to secure the place.
- For participants and leaders the fee includes all elements of the programme (for participants), site fees, food and some consumables, travel whilst at the event and a participant/leader pack. The fee does not include travel to/from the event, the provision of personal or unit equipment or fuel for catering.
- For staff members the fee includes evening programme, site fees, food (cooked and served), travel whilst at the event and a staff pack. The fee does not include travel to/from the event or the provision of personal equipment.
- In order to qualify for the Early Payment Discount of £10 per participant (i.e. the £230 participant fee is reduced to £220) the unit must have paid in full for all members by 30th April 2014. The early payment discount does not apply to Leaders or Staff.
- All adults booking must satisfy the WINGS 2014 Child Protection and Safeguarding policies. All adults who will attend WINGS 2014 must comply to the CRB equivalent / Child Protection / Safeguarding policies and regulations in their home country and must provide evidence to WINGS 2014 prior to acceptance onto the event. By agreeing to the T&C, you are consenting to WINGS2014 requesting Police Checks to be carried out on you if you are not in possession of current UK Scouting or Girlguiding UK Safeguarding requirements and where appropriate, the Head of WINGS2014 Safeguarding being provided with any relevant results of any such law enforcement agency checks.
- Unit Leaders are reasonable for ensuring Leader to Participant ratios are satisfied. However, the WINGS 2014 Director withholds the right to restrict Leader numbers for units where there are excessive Leaders in relation to the number of Participants because this is to the detriment of the number of Participants that can attend.
- In the case of cancellation by participants, leaders or staff, no refund of fees paid at the time of cancellation will be given. The organisers retain the right to refund in exceptional or compassionate circumstances where they see fit.
- If WINGS 2014 has to be cancelled due to circumstances beyond the control of the organisers, money will be refunded to the extent that money has not already been spent or committed to be spent. This is likely to mean that no fees can be refunded.

Unit Leaders are responsible for ensuring the units have adequate insurance for attending the trip subject to their own risk assessment.

Places at WINGS are allocated subject to the organising team’s right to alter or vary the programme without being obliged to refund all or any part of the fee. This may include the publicised activities.

Breach of any of these conditions or any unacceptable behaviours likely to cause damage, nuisance, injury, criminal action, bring The Scout Association, Girlguiding or WINGS into disrepute will be addressed by the WINGS 2014 Director who will decide an appropriate outcome (after taking appropriate advice ) upto and including request to leave the event. Any request to leave the event will be at the decision of the WINGS 2014 Director, and at the cost of the person or Unit being requested to leave.

WINGS 2014 accepts no responsibility for personal or group property owned by participants, leaders and staff. The individuals responsible should make sure suitable insurance is in place.

Units may use the WINGS 2014 name and logo for publicity purposes only, the logo must not be edited without the prior permission of the WINGS 2014 Director.

Participants, leaders and staff must not undertake any trade or commercial activity on site without the prior written permission of the WINGS 2014 Director.

All of these conditions are subject to the Law of England and Wales.
