Alasdair Garbett
Participant Experience, International Support and Sub Camp Operations Director
I have been scouting since 1978 when I joined as a cub. I worked my way through Cubs, Scouts, and Venture Scouts to then become Assistant Scout Leader and Assistant Venture Unit Leader. I also acted as stage crew in Stirling Gang Show and have made solo scout leader visits to Germany, Yellowknife (Canada), St Louis (USA) and Haines City Florida (USA)
My current role is Group Scout Leader in Colnbrook, Berkshire where I helped to start the group 5 years ago and continues to grow from strength to strenth.
My first international experiences were as a participant at Blair Atholl Jamboree, Scotland in 1984 and 1986 and a Sub Camp Uncle in 1994. I attended Poacher 1992 and troop camps in Germany and Jersey as a Unit Leader. At WINGS2009, I worked on Sub Camp Communications and Logistics.
My professional background is in International Trade and Compliance, including import, export and customs, for World Duty Free Group. I also have experience in auditing, stocktaking and retail industries.
