Sub camp layout
Hello fellow leaders!
This page is to tell you about the Wings 2014 Archaeology subcamp site layout…..who we have and where you will be.
Below is a table that details your unit ID number, unit name and your pitch dimensions (in metres) and pitch number. The pitch number tallies with the same number on the map so you can see where you will be. The subcamp site map you will find below the table. Pitch sizes have been calculated according to the number of people in your unit, and then quite a lot more added! We are lucky to have the space to do so on our sub-camp….those who have been to Wings before will know that the camp borders are defined by the park layout and trees, etc, and that the ground will have dips and bumps to work around…! it’s not easy ….! Just to state the obvious, not all pitches are square! For units that have multiple pitch dimensions, scroll on down to the foot of this newsletter and you will find a link to click on to see a more detailed pitch outline for your unit. The maps are not to scale, but give an indication. The sizes in metres are the best guide to follow (but could vary a little in situ)!
You may wish to have an evening session ‘setting up camp’….working out what will go where, what kit you really need (and what ‘would be nice if to have if’ – after all, this is camping not glamping
Also, remember to follow guidelines for safety…have sufficient space between tents for access, and so on.
We would like that gas bottles are placed by the main pathways so they can be easily reached if there should be need.
Happy planning!
